**China hits back at Trump tariffs, in danger of spiralling trade war**

The world’s two largest economies have now imposed tariffs on hundreds of billions of dollars worth of each other’s goods after the US announced new measures on Friday.

In the latest move in an escalating trade war between the US and China, the Trump administration will impose tariffs of 25% on $16 billion of Chinese goods starting next week, and will begin the process of identifying $200 billion more in Chinese imports to be hit with tariffs.
