British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was said to be in stable condition in intensive care on Tuesday after spending a second night in hospital, with his condition prompting concern among colleagues and the wider public about who might succeed him if he becomes incapacitated. Johnson was admitted to St Thomas’ Hospital in central London on Sunday after suffering persistent COVID-19 symptoms 10 days after testing positive for the virus. He was moved to intensive care on Monday after his condition worsened. A Downing Street spokesman said on Tuesday morning that Johnson’s condition was stable overnight and he had been able to sit up in bed and engage with medical staff. .
